Presenting Omega Supreme from the Transformers Energon series. A friend noticed him standing at the back from a previous entry and asked who he was, so here he is. That’s his motto above which is easy to say when you’re so big. This Omega Supreme stands nearly a foot and a half tall (16 inches) and weighs in at 4.5 lbs making him easily one of the largest transformers. Such as the G1 Omega Supreme, the Transformers Cyberverse Energon Omega Supreme has the signature visored head – although this one has two horns instead of one. Transformers dark of the moon megatron also loses the tri-claw left hand in favor of a two claw hand;  and trades in the right hand cannon in favor of something that looks like it came out of a Macross movie. The biggest difference between the G1 Omega Supreme and the Energon Omega Supreme is the color. Half of this Omega is bright yellow, and the other half is Blue – which is a big clue that screams at you that this Omega splits in half. Like the original G1 Omega, it’s fully articulated and has a few hidden electronics and surprises to boot.

Megatron is a towering, bulky, dinosaur-footed monstrosity with a varied color scheme noticeably different than that of the movie version. Megatron’s jet mode looks a little bit like one of Leonardo da Vinci’s flying machines. Staying true to the movie, Devastator is massive, standing well over a foot in height and dwarfing most other Transformers Cyberverse toys. He is a solid, heavy, and well-built toy. Pulling a lever on his chest causes his mouth (called the Vortex Grinder) to light up with bright, neon-green LED lights. The lever also triggers battle sounds and quotes taken straight from the movie. Devastator isn’t the most flexible toy around. Because of his size, he can be a bit cumbersome to play with. However, his elbows and knees are articulated, which makes him easier to position and balance. He also has realistic details, which gives him value as a collector’s replica.

An Enjoyable, Challenging Assembly

Devastator Constructicon might be one of the biggest transformers around, but it’s also one of the most difficult to put together. Parents should be aware that the Devastator requires some degree of finesse to assemble — and in some cases, strength. Some of the snapping parts are especially tricky to connect together, and prove difficult to pry apart. The toy is labeled as a Level 4 conversion, so younger children will have difficulty converting the toy by themselves. It took nearly 15 minutes to figure everything out. Still, putting the toy together should provide a constructive challenge for older kids.

Starscream, in the mythology of the perennially popular Transformers series of toys, is the scheming second-in-command to the tyrannical Megatron, the leader of the evil Decepticons. Though he is politically ambitious, we are told, he lacks the finer political skills necessary to truly consolidate power. Still, unlike most human politicians, he can turn into an airplane and fire a spring-loaded missile out of a cannon that’s built into his body. And few earthly political candidates come equipped with a snap out blade, a light-up missile rack, and electronic rocket sounds. We found the transformation from iteration to the other to be challenging but not impossible. But Starscream is certainly not going to win our vote in any election.
